Our Mission

At the heart of the 2 Miles Empathy Project beats a relentless commitment to breaking down barriers to healthcare access. Born from the urgent need to address transportation hurdles hindering vulnerable communities from reaching vital medical services, our mission emboldens us to propel forward into the realm of healthcare advocacy. We are driven by the profound belief that every individual, regardless of their social or economic standing, deserves equitable access to healthcare. Through our collective endeavors, we pledge to provide essential transportation alternatives to those who need it most, paving the way for healthier lives and brighter futures. Our core values of service, integrity, excellence, courage, teamwork, and stewardship serve as guiding stars, illuminating our path as we navigate the complex landscape of healthcare disparity. We recognize that sacrifice is inherent to our mission, yet it is through this sacrifice that our empathy flourishes, binding us together not in pity, but in shared humanity and a shared determination to transform suffering into hope. In a world where diseases remain impartial only when our social structures are just, the 2 Miles Empathy Project emerges as a powerful instrument for leveling the playing field, bending the arc of disadvantage away from disparity and towards equity and justice.

Addressing Social Determinants of Health

Long-standing health inequities and poor health outcomes remain a pressing policy challenge in the U.S. Our mission serves to address social determinants of health via free rides through our charity funds.

Our Core Values

Stewardship

In carrying out every aspect of our work, our team is guided by a professional ethos that is the sum of our abiding principles, core values, and highest aspirations. These include service, integrity, excellence, courage, teamwork, and stewardship. Sacrifice, too, is an inescapable part of our mission.

Compassion

Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity, but as human beings who have learned how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.

Equality

Diseases only treat humans equally when our social orders treat humans equally. The 2 Miles  is a powerful tool to level that playing field, to bend the arc of our disadvantaged individuals away from disparities and structural violence back towards equity and justice.
